Each day at Quadra is comprised of a well structured series of activities. The children play outside at least once
per day, rain or shine, and as many as three times per day in good weather. There are opportunities each day
to participate in arts and crafts, puzzles and building activities, play acting and dress-up games, and so on.
The children have a morning and afternoon snack in addition to lunch. Story time is a daily activity, and we
have facilities for naps or quiet time for younger children. The children get a mix of free and structured activities
each day, and also a mix of large and small group activities. Constant variety within a structured framework keeps
children interested and secure in their surroundings.
Themes
We commonly use themes as a focus for activities of all kinds. A theme might last anywhere from one to three
weeks, and the theme serves as a focus for arts and crafts, books, discussions at circle time, playtime games
and activities. Themes are generally chosen to be relevant to a current event or season. Examples of our themes include:
